Maths Creations

Hi blogging world. Last week for maths we had to make a tent. We were given a stick of modelling clay, lots of tooth picks and a piece of cardboard. We made little balls of modelling clay and connected it with the tooth picks to make the walls and the floor. The shapes I used were squares and a rectangle. One of the problems were that our creations keep falling apart because of gravity pushing the modelling clay down. The fun things were that when making something with clay and tooth picks you need to push your self in a creative way. I found out that it must be very hard to build a real building. I think that next time I build something like this I will use a different variety of shapes. Over all I think that this activity was a very fun way to learn maths because it teach's kids maths is everywhere and that some shapes are stronger than others.  Here is a picture of mine. Comic Strip

Last week for Cyber Smart we had to make a comic strip related do safety online. Our comic strip is about a bully sending a mean email to me and my friend. I think it teaches others to not respond to the mean emails but to report abuse or tell someone you trust. Here is my comic strip. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave a comments.

Pick a Path

In reading in the past few weeks we have been doing pick a paths. My story is based on a group I made up, they all go to a institute of music. How to do a pick a path is easy. Moving in

This Monday the senior syndicate has moved in to the new building. There are three home groups, Room 7 is Waitemata, Room 8 is Manukau and Room 9 is hauraki.  And our class's altogether are called Te Waka Ako. The lovely Mrs Sands has painted a sign the says Te Waka Ako. The furniture is so cool. There are no desk just lots of comfy furniture like couches and high tables. There so cool. We get to work as one whole syndicate in some subject's. We had the kapahaka group preform in the cold weather the kapahaka group preformed two songs. Then after the juniors went in the classrooms the seniors went in to the classrooms. Everyone said it looked amazing. We are having a great time in the this new classroom. CyberSmart

Today our new cyber smart teacher Jared came to teach us about digital footprints. He set a task for us. We had to go and check out some schools blog and take a screen shot. Then we had to think who was most likely to check this blog out. This is what I did. Feel free to leave a comment

In Room 7 we have been doing passion projects. We had to do a project on something we like or something we are passionate about! So I did YouTube. The reason I did YouTube is because when I'm bored at home I watch YouTube on end. YouTube has more than millions of videos so you will never get bored. You just have to look. Creative Writing

This week for writing we are doing creative writing. Mr Ross gave us the start of our writing and it was FUN!!! You can get so creative in writing and it doesn't even have to be true.
